- Paypal has officially launched mobile payments. Mastercard announced the launch
of OTA secure personalization payment solution for mobile phones.
- AskMeNow announced the global launch of its mobile information platform, and it is now providing quite a lot of possibilities
including dynamic contextual advertising.
- Yahoo! and AOL both push even strongly into mobile space.
- Gartner actively supports Mobile Business 2.0 .
- More possibilities for development of mobile applications and communities. Verizon actively supports mobile flash developers. Openwave with its' huge market share - seconding Opera - enables mobile AJAX in its' browser. Qualcomm platform
now supports the concurrent execution of multiple J2ME applications.
SIM Strong Authentication Task Force is chartered with establishing standards for identity verification based on sim card - potentially enabling carrier-independent global identity/profile management - unlike current proprietary solutions as one from SmartTrust.
